Apple confirms the issue of CPU throttling in new MacBook pro model
The Bug affects every new generation systems.
According to Apple, it claims that there is missing a digital key in the firmware that impacts the thermal management system and affects to could drive clock speeds down under heavy workloads in the new MacBook Pro system.
What is CPU throttling?
It is adjusting the clock speed of the CPU. Also called “dynamic frequency scaling,” CPU throttling is commonly used to automatically slow down the computer when possible to use less energy and conserve battery, especially in laptops.
This Bug affects in every new generation of MacBook Pro system and all of its Intel processor configuration including 13-inch and 15-inch sizes models.
Apple issues the following statement,
“Following extensive performance testing under numerous workloads, we’ve identified that there is a missing digital key in the firmware that impacts the thermal management system and could drive clock speeds down under heavy thermal loads on the new MacBook Pro. A bug fix is included in today’s macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Supplemental Update and is recommended. We apologize to any customer who has experienced less than optimal performance on their new systems.”
Apple has declined that what is the “Missing Digital Key”? But we hope their testing is still on.
