Two weeks ago, we detected some unusual activity within portions of the LastPass development environment. After initiating an immediate investigation, we have seen no evidence that this incident involved any access to customer data or encrypted password vaults, said Karim Toubba CEO LastPass.
The company claimed that this cyber attack incident did not compromise your Master password.
Cyber Investigation is Ongoing
In response to the incident, we have deployed containment and mitigation measures, and engaged a leading cybersecurity and forensics firm. While our investigation is ongoing, we have achieved a state of containment, implemented additional enhanced security measures, and see no further evidence of unauthorized activity.
According to LastPass, its services are running smoothly and their customers data and encrypted password vaults are not affected by this incident.
Lastpass users do not need to take any remedial action at this time.
Lastpass Previous Incident
Hackers had previously cyber attack on LastPass. In 2021, the company found suspicious activity in which hackers attempted to access many customer accounts by using the correct master passwords.
