In a whistleblower complaint, Twitter's former security chief Peiter Zatko says the Twitter misled regulators about its defenses against hackers.
Twitter denied Zatko's accusations, and said he was fired for poor leadership.
Known as "Mudge," Zatko claims Twitter falsely claimed to have a solid security plan in a complaint pages, and said he warned colleagues about out-of-date and vulnerable software on half of Twitter's servers.
"We are reviewing the redacted claims that have been published but what we have seen so far is a false narrative that is riddled with inconsistencies and inaccuracies, and presented without important context," Twitter Chief Executive Parag Agrawal told
In July 2022, Elon Musk ended $44 billion deal to buy the company alleging it violated the agreement.
